| Content: | In this course, you will learn the Prettau® Skin® technique for creating ultra-thin zirconia veneers using the Prettau® line, with no or only minimal preparation of the patient's natural tooth structure. The training session goes beyond theoretical dental knowledge, addressing key principles of minimally invasive dentistry and essential factors for high-quality restorations. It also includes practical, hands-on experience with the Detection Eye intraoral scanner, colour and material selection, and mock-up try-ins. To ensure optimal learning, the course is held in collaboration with dental technicians. For certain parts of the course, participants will be divided into groups (dentists and dental technicians) to address the specific requirements and practical content of each profession. |
Programme
Day 1 (all-day)
- Theoretical insights (dentist’s perspective): importance and development of minimally invasive dentistry and dynamic age-related treatment planning; key factors for high-quality restorations
- Introduction to the workflow and digital capture of the oral situation using the Detection Eye intraoral scanner
- Basics of adhesion (isolation techniques, role of monophosphates, polymerisation lamp) and hands-on practice in bonding procedures
Day 2 (all-day)
- Theoretical insights (dental technician’s perspective): digital workflow from intraoral scanning to veneer production, indications and contraindications, colour and material selection
- Mock-up try-in
- Minimally invasive preparation using prep guides
- In-depth study on zirconia veneers – dental aspects (indications and contraindications, advantages and disadvantages, diagnostics, importance of mock-ups, selective preparation)
- Veneer evaluation by the course instructor
- Examination under the microscope of the bonded structures from the previous day and testing of the bonding strength
- Summary and final discussion
