Border-Lock® impression tray
Ideal for accurate impressions with the single-step or double-mix technique
The fitting of the Border-Lock® trays is the same as the well-known Rim-Lock trays by Schreinemakers. The generation of a dynamic pressure in the impression material is necessary for a successful impression result. The classic Rim-Lock tray (small, medium, large) is suitable for all 2-step impression techniques, in which the hard putty material develops pressure. In case of single-step and double-mix technique, the dynamic pressure is provided by the impression tray. For this reason, Prof. Schreinemakers developed the Border-Lock® tray.
Border-Lock® impression tray - autoclavable
The tray material is made of a strong acrylic, which allows these corrosion-free trays to withstand a maximum temperature of 134° and be suitable for sterilisation in autoclave. The tray stability was tested at the University of Giessen in Germany and meets the requirements for accurate impressions with the single-step and double-mix technique.
The set for dentulous maxilla and mandible contains 10 upper-jaw trays and 8 lower-jaw trays. For each dental arch shape, precisely fitting semi-individual Border-Lock® trays have been developed. The three dental arch shape are: normal, square and gothic. The semi-individual fit of the tray completely closes the impression space and the post dam behind the 3rd molar prevents the impression material to flow towards the pharynx. In this way, the dynamic pressure developed in the impression material is optimal and the dentist can immediately perform the final impression.
