NOVOHead Tracker digital facebow

Procedure after intraoral scanning
Based on the patient’s specific anatomy, the Head Tracker accurately acquires the maxilla position using a completely digital approach and considering all other relevant data. In the past, the natural head position (NHP) could only be captured analogically using the PlaneFinder® and later digitised. However, with the increasing use of intraoral scans, the acquisition process can now begin directly in the digital realm. To ensure a seamless and accurate data transfer, it is therefore essential that subsequent procedures can be performed fully digitally as well.
With the Head Tracker, Zirkonzahn revolutionises the diagnostic field by enabling the contact-free, digital acquisition of patient's natural head position (NHP) and reference planes without any exogenous influences that could compromise the results. The Head Tracker also offers considerable advantages in terms of acquisition speed and patient comfort: by means of two state-of-the-art sensors and the Zirkonzahn.App, it is now possible to precisely acquire maxilla positions, individual ala-tragus planes, and 2D images of the patient's physiognomy which then serve as important working basis for the dental technician – all on a smart phone.
In the Zirkonzahn.Modifier software, the imported Head Tracker data is then automatically aligned in the virtual articulator, ensuring the positioning of the upper and lower jaw according to the NHP, with the possibility of further processing in the software.
Although the system is conceived for stand-alone use, it is recommended to use the Head Tracker in combination with the physical PlaneFinder®.

REVOLUTIONARY PATIENT ANALYSIS
Digital dentistry has grown quickly in recent years and one of the keys is to fully take advantage of the benefits digital technology can offer.
This opens up numerous new opportunities for analysing, capturing, and transferring referenceable individual patient data which can be based on the model, the skull, or the space itself. The transfer of all anatomical information establishes the basis for producing functional and aesthetic dental restorations, a process that can now be performed fully digitally: after taking intraoral scans with the Detection Eye intraoral scanner, it is possible to acquire the maxilla position by means of the Head Tracker, used in combination with the PlaneFinder®. Data are then losslessly transferred to Zirkonzahn.Software and merged, yielding a 3D virtual reproduction of patient's oral and extraoral anatomy.
Data can also be combined with the individual jaw movements recorded by the PlaneAnalyser II.
