Computer Dental Diagnostic (CDD) Curriculum with Udo Plaster, MDT and Zirkonzahn
Novelty! Digital Workflow Design in the Klinik DeMedici in South Tyrol
In May, dental technicians from Israel, USA, Mexico, Canada, Portugal, Spain, Russia, Poland and Italy came together with their dentists to South Tyrol and took part at the Computer Dental Diagnostic (CDD) curriculum in the newly opened Klinik DeMedici. The two-part curriculum initiated by Udo Plaster and Zirkonzahn focuses on holistic patient and model analysis and the resulting treatment plan. There is a worldwide consensus nowadays that the best possible patient care requires close cooperation between dentists and dental technicians, and that expert knowledge from other medical fields should also be included if necessary. But how exactly can this cooperation be organised in everyday treatment? Within the framework of the curriculum, this question is examined theoretically (part 1) and practically (part 2) on the basis of real patient cases. During the four days of the practical part in May and under professional guidance of Udo Plaster, MDT, physiotherapist Ralf Hergenroether and Zirkonzahn software experts Wilfried Tratter and Jürgen Feierabend, both MDT, patients were measured with the PlaneSystem®, 3D facial scan data were captured, models, lower jaw movements and postures were analysed, intraoral scan data were integrated, solution approaches discussed and finally individual occlusal splints or mock-ups for the patients were created.
The PlaneSystem®, developed by Udo Plaster, MDT, enables the exact recording and the analysis of referenced individual patient data. In cooperation with Zirkonzahn, this approach was expanded, digitised and thus integrated into a coherent workflow. Without losing any information, it becomes possible to transfer information from the analogue world into the digital world and vice versa. This means in practical terms that the clinical information taken from the mouth can be synchronised 1:1 with the dental technical workplace. Dental technicians thus design the restoration digitally on the permanently available patient. The entire patient situation, including individual asymmetries, can be recorded, referenced on the basis of defined values and subsequently reproduced exactly at any time. This is a complete novelty! Reproducibility leads to a particularly high level of planning and treatment reliability, especially for complex therapies.
Dental technicians and dentists who wish to increase their planning and treatment reliability for the benefit of the patient can contact www.zirkonzahn.com, info@zirkonzahn.com or +39 0474 066 660 to inform themselves about the next international Computer Dental Diagnostic Curriculum. It will take place 17.10.2019 - 19.10.2019 or 05.02.2020 - 08.02.2020 and will be held in English.
