Composites for increasing the opacity level of metal frameworks
Our new Metal Opaquer are composites conceived for reducing the grey value of metal frameworks and are available in two tissue and two dentine shades. Applied to recreate a natural base colour in both tooth and gingival areas, they prevent the grey value from shining through the final restoration, providing it with a high aesthetic quality and a completely natural-looking effect. Metal Opaquer are light-curing composites and can therefore only be layered with light-curing composites. They can be applied to Zirkonzahn Cocronit Superior, Titanit 5 and Sinternit structures.
Moreover, the metal structures that have been primed with Metal Opaquer can be scanned without the additional use of the scan spray:
The application of Metal Opaquer step by step
|Step 1: Roughen or sandblast (110 μm, 2 bar) the metal structure surfaces to which the Metal Opaquer will be applied.
|Step 2: Apply the Tissue Light or Tissue Dark shade to the inner and outer gingival areas of the framework, which is then polymerised.
|Step 3: Once the polymerisation process has been completed, apply a second layer of Metal Opaquer and proceed with a second polymerisation.
|Step 4: After finishing the gingival area, apply the Dentine B1 or A3 colour to the outer and inner sides of the metal dies and then polymerise.
|Step 5: In order to achieve an optimal opacity level, apply also to the dies a second layer of Metal Opaquer.
|Step 6: Once characterised, bond the zirconia or resin crowns to the metal dies and veneer the gingival areas with the light-curing Gingiva-Composites.
|Result: The difference in the final restoration is clearly visible: on the right part of the framework where Metal Opaquer has not been applied, the grey value of the metal shines through. In the left one, on the contrary, thanks to the application of Metal Opaquer it is completely covered.
