From vision to reality – A patient case 100 % digitally created

Based on a real case with live patient, the aim of this course is to provide dentists and dental technicians with the complete digital workflow for a full rehabilitation.  

Initial situation: severe wear, occlusal dysfunction, missing tooth 46 
Planned restoration: complete rehabilitation with implant placement, gingivectomy and zirconia crowns

Place: Education Center Brunico, South Tyrol (Italy)
 
Course programme: Day 1 (all-day; 09:00 am – 6:00 pm)
  • Illustration of patient’s situation and data acquisition (patient history, diagnostic findings, etc.)
  • Review of clinical principles, including bite registration, tooth preparation and tooth design
  • Preparation of patient's mandibular and relining of the anatomical splint by the dentist
  • Digital impression taking with the Detection Eye intraoral scanner; explanation of the scan protocol and the different options for bite registration
  • Step-by-step workflow in the Zirkonzahn.Software: from data acquisition and scan process, to transfer and further processing of the acquired scans 
  • On the course model, participants put into practice all workflow steps demonstrated by the dentist 

Day 2 (all-day; 09:00 am – 6:00 pm)
  • Finishing the preparation of the course models and relining of the anatomical splint by the course participants
  • Review of design and manufacturing steps for mandibular prototype 
  • Insertion of the prototype in the patient's mouth

Day 3 (morning; 09:00 am – 01:00 pm)
  • Explanation of the cementation protocol
  • Cementation of the final zirconia crowns in the patient's upper jaw using the cementation protocol
