The Colour Liquid is used to colour the ready milled and finished zirconia structures. Colouring is made by dipping the framework into the liquid before sintering, so that the zirconium infiltrates with the liquid. However, the Prettau® zirconia is coloured by using a metal-free brush.
The dipping time does not affect the colouring of zirconia and therefore 10 seconds are sufficient to achieve a uniform colouring. The frameworks must be blow dried after the dipping process to remove excess colour. The subsequent working stage under the drying lamp is necessary in order to prevent damage to the heating elements of the sinter furnace and optimize their service life by avoiding corrosion by the acid contained in the Colour Liquid and a yellow staining of the zirconium structures during the sintering process.
The drying time of the frameworks depends on the size of the bridge. For individual crowns and small bridges of up to 5 elements a drying time of 45 minutes is recommended, for larger bridges up to one and a half hours.
With our Colour Liquids it is possible to cover the entire Vita shade colour range. The colour becomes indelible through the sintering process.
